Why I first ran for trustee and what are my hopes and vision for the community: My family has resided in the village for over 100 years. Family members have been small business owners, with a bakery and an excavation company., and my father, grandfather, uncles and cousins have proudly donned the uniform of the Winthrop Harbor Fire Department. After our marriage after high school (20 years this Sept.!), Jennifer and I decided to continue the tradition and buy our first home in town. I always knew I wanted to serve my community any way possible. When I began to see and hear that many residents started to feel differently about the direction of our state and village, I decided to run for Trustee. I want to make sure our tax dollars are spent appropriately, wisely and that the direction in which Winthrop Harbor is headed is always in the best interest of all its residents. We are a unique community and we must not allow our Village to be compared. Being landlocked and also known as a bedroom community must not define our growth or identity. My hopes and vision for our community is that we never lose focus on what matters the most… hard working families, seniors and children.
